Following the death of Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person to die of Ebola in the U.S., panic and fear has grasped many Americans. Count Chris Brown among the concerned. The music star offered an eyebrow-raising theory behind the spread of the deadly virus early Monday morning (October 13).
Brown tweeted, “I don't know ... But I think this Ebola epidemic is a form of population control. S**t is getting crazy bruh.”
The “New Flame” crooner is hardly alone in his worry over the epidemic, which has already claimed the lives of over 4,000 people in West Africa, but he drew the ire of many on social media who thought his theory was far-fetched and ill-informed.
Aware of the response from critics, Brown slightly backed off his original comment by tweeting, “Let me shut my black a** up!” Going silent on the matter didn’t allay the backlash, so Brown offered a far more direct and vulgar response to his naysayers.
Now that the Ebola outbreak has reached the U.S., this is probably not the last time Chris Brown will address the topic. The music superstar, like millions of Americans, will continue to search for answers until the rampant spread of the virus is over.
