Bobby Shmurda: I'm Not Getting Paid

Brooklyn rapper says he isn't getting compensated for shows, can’t trust anybody.

Bobby Shmurda has a shmoney issue to address: he’s not getting paid. The “Hot N***a'” rapper posted a video on Instagram yesterday (Oct. 15) claiming that he works all the time but his pockets aren’t any fatter. He also says he can’t trust anybody.

“I’m doing all theses [sic] shows not getting ma money dey got me doing s**t every f***ing day so its hard to keep up Witt dis s**t den I ain’t got nobody to trust aint no help in dis b***h I’m ready to go back to da trap be4 jail #RNS dats how I feel foh,” he captioned the post.

In the now-deleted Instagram clip Shmurda mentions a possible show scam, and announces that he’s done performing. “If you have a contract with Bobby Shmurda and you don’t have my signature on that paper, sue the s**t outta them,” advises the Brooklyn rapper. “I don’t give a f***. Sue them n****s. I ain’t getting no money for it, and I aint’ doing no more shows. I don’t give a f**k about none of that s**t.”

Shmoney troubles couldn’t come at a busier time for Shmurda, who so far only has one hit to his name. He signed to Epic Records over the summer (the deal is rumored to be worth more than $1 million), and "Hot N***a" just recently broke into the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

This week, Shmurda released the cover art for his Shmurda She Wrote EP, due out next month. The 20-year-old rapper is featured in a bizarre yet eye-popping closeup shot, wearing a ski mask with only his eyes, mouth, and tongue exposed.
