Even after months of lock up, Meek Mill is determined not to get caught up in the recidivism loop. The "Amen" rapper said so during a call with August Alsina, who was all smiles as he shared Meek's voice with fans via speakerphone.
“Ayo what’s up? It’s your boy Meek Milly right here. Me and August kicking it, talking this real young n***a s**t. Talking about how I gotta do it when I get back down. One love to everybody holding it down,” Meek said in a video that August posted to his Instagram account.
Since the clip is quick, August went on to explain "how I gotta do" via a caption. "I tol em God sat us down differently but at the end of it all he SAT US DOWN!" August wrote. "He said Exactly! We jus gotta know/recognize when da Man giving you a chance to get your s**t in order then Come back stronger then ever. #HeSayHeMightF**kArounNwearASuitOnceAWeek #ISaid 😳😱 #NoooImNotReady *K.Hart voice."
According to August, Meek was all smiles, too, his spirits still lifted although he's in, as August calls it "that s**t hole." "Good to hear & feel a smile on em thru it all," August wrote.
Meek has been in prison since July, paying time for violating probabtion in an attempt to tour. The probation stemmed from a 2009 incident that occurred just as he was in the midst of a bidding war for his first record deal. In August of this year, he was denied early release, an attempt to continue working on his sophomore album, Dreams Worth More Than Money.
Meek is expected home this month.
