Drake Partners With KOTD for 'Blackout 5' Rap Battle

October's Own joins Toronto-based hip hop league's "mystery event."

Drake and King of the Dot Entertainment have joined forces for Toronto’s “Blackout 5" rap battle to be held at an undisclosed location in February 2015.

KOTD co-founder Organik released a video teasing the “mystery event,” featuring Drizzy’s signature OVO owl, and later confirmed his role in the collaboration online. “Officially teaming up with the big homie @Drake to bring y'all the biggest battle event in history!!” read a tweet from the Organik account.

The company further confirmed his participation via battlerap.com, stating that the 27-year-old signing on marks the “the beginning of something huge.”

While details of Drake's involvement were not included, despite rumors to the contrary, the Toronto native won’t actually be participating in the lyrical bout.
