Soulja Boy Gets Probation in Gun Case
Soulja Boy has reached a resolution stemming from his arrest earlier this year.
The 24-year-old rapper, whose birth name is DeAndre Cortez, was sentenced to two years probation and 117 hours of community service in his gun case Thursday (Dec. 18), TMZ reports.
Reaching a plea deal helped wrap things up for SB. He pleaded no contest to carrying a loaded weapon, in exchange for having the possession of a firearm charge against him dropped. The gun has also been destroyed.
The Love & Hip Hop Hollywood star was busted in January, after a car he was riding in was pulled over for running a traffic light. Police noticed a firearm in the car and promptly arrested him, but he wasn't officially charged until October.
SB maintained that the weapon belonged to a neighbor who previously borrowed the car.
