What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay there.

According to TMZ, The Weeknd was arrested in Sin City Saturday (Jan. 10) for allegedly punching a cop. Authorities were called to break up the scene of a fight involving the 24-year-old singer inside the Cromwell Hotel at around 4:20 in the morning.

The Weeknd reportedly punched a police officer in the head after he was separated from the fight and put in an elevator. He was arrested for battery of a protected person and later freed on $2,000 bail, Rap-Up reports.

Following his release, The Weeknd Instagrammed a photo of himself walking towards a private plane with the caption “escaped from Vegas.”

The Canadian recording artist was in Las Vegas for a performance at Drai’s Nightclub.
