Lil Wayne Announces Sorry 4 The Wait Mixtape

There’s no update on Tha Carter V release, but new music from Weezy is on the way.

With Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V still MIA, it appears the Young Money emcee is repeating history by releasing a little something to hold over fans, as he did in the lead up to Tha Carter IV. In a short video posted earlier today, he laid a verse over I Love Makonnen's "Maneuvering," with a message on the screen: "I'm so sorry...for the wait. Tuesday."

Sorry for the Wait 2's first song might be a remix to Future's "S**t," which Waye's labelmate Mack Maine released earlier this week. Fans have been speculating that a mixtape was coming once it became clear that Weezy's album wasn't going to drop late last year as expected. There is still no official release date in sight for the studio project, which has been waylaid by drama between the rapper and his label. After tweeting about the situation, he opened up on stage during a December performance, calling the beef a "f***ed up situation" and saying that he will "be out of it soon."
