New Kids on the Block Announces Tour With TLC, Nelly

The '80s boy band reunites for The Main Event.

New Kids on the Block is heading out on The Main Event tour later this year with TLC and Nelly, the group announced on Good Morning America Tuesday (Jan. 20).

"We've decided to reform again — not that we've broken up, but we're gonna go back on tour this summer, which is great news to our fans because we haven’t toured in a couple years,” said Donnie Wahlberg. “It’s a huge thing for us and our fans; we decided to bring some special guests on tour with us.”

T-Boz and Chilli were on hand to help make the big reveal. According to Chilli, TLC and NKOTB “fell in love” after they performed together last year. “I think that’s when the ideas started to brew.”

Touring is the second big news from TLC, after the duo launched a Kickstarter account over the weekend to raise money for their upcoming fifth album. NKOTB vowed to donate $10,000 in exchange for a duet.

Nelly missed the GMA appearance to perform for the troops, so he sent along a video message encouraging fans to “come and show out” for the tour.

The Main Event tour kicks off at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on May 1, and ends July 2 at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, NY.

Tickets go on sale Jan. 31, but American Express pre-sale passes will be available this Friday (Jan. 23).
