Nothing brings the people together like good music or in this case G.O.O.D. music.
It was a cloudy overcast night in Los Angeles, but the stars were out at the world famous House of Blues on the Sunset Strip, where Big Sean and some of hip hop's biggest names put on one of Grammy weekend’s most epic shows.
Of course it wouldn’t be a Kanye appearance without a monologue and this time around 'Ye, who earlier in the day unveiled his brand new Yeezy 3 sneakers, made a quite bold statement on the topic. The much-hyped kicks were designed in collaboration with Adidas, so of course Mr. West took aim at rival shoe brand Nike when he had a moment last night.
“[To] the people at the Nike office right quick. Hold up. Hold up. We ain’t gonna talk to long but I gotta say something,” exclaimed Yeezy. He also asked the capacity crowd, “I know the execs saying that Nike ain’t scared of Kanye West. Should Nike be scared of Kanye West?”
Ye then transitioned into “Black Skinhead” but later dedicated his performance of “New Slaves” to shoe giants while stars like Jennifer Lopez, Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber, Kendall Jenner and more looked on from the balcony.
The “Through the Wire” emcee and Big Sean then dropped the biggest surprise of the night when they brought out a huge ensemble of stars, including Tyga, Ty Dolla $ign, DJ Mustard, Travi$ Scott, Chris Brown and YG to help belt out the hook to “IDFWU.”
Big Sean's new album Dark Sky Paradise comes out on Feb. 24.
