Adding the element of surprise to NBA All-Star weekend, Prince played an impromptu set at 23 Wall Street in New York City in honor of the 30th anniversary of Michael Jordan's iconic Jordan brand. The private event welcomed some big names and some even bigger hits.
Nike launched a year-long celebration of the Jordan brand at the festivities earlier this week, and while it was already after midnight when Prince hit the stage Saturday (Feb. 14), the A-listers still came out in drones. From Beyoncé and Jay Z to Carmelo Anthony, Queen Latifah and Chris Rock, the purple one's power was magnetic.
Backed by his band 3RDEYEGIRL, Prince played a substantial hit-heavy set list including "Let's Go Crazy," "1999," "Kiss" and, of course, "Purple Rain."
The music icon released his 33rd and 34th albums, Art Official Age and Plectrumelectrum, on Sept. 30, 2014, to rave reviews.
