Big Sean: I Would Do a Joint Album with Drake

Detroit rapper talks Dark Sky Paradise, potential collaborations, Kanye West and more with Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club.

From the rumored Jay Z and Beyoncé release to Fan of a Fan by Chris Brown and Tyga, collaborative albums are headed for a major comeback.

Big Sean spoke to the possibility of a joint album with Drake, Ariana Grande and more of his fellow artists during an interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club this morning (Feb. 24). The rapper, whose Dark Sky Paradise release is officially out today (Feb. 24), sat in the hot seat for the morning show's usual run of hot topic questions pertaining to the personal and professional.

When the subject of collaborative LPs came up, Sean named Kanye West first on his list before host Charlamagne Tha God mentioned that Yeezy wants to do a project with Drizzy. “I would do one with Drake, too,” he replied. “I would do one with a lot of people. I would do one with Jhené [Aiko], I would do one with Ariana. I think it’s cool when people do like six songs [EPs]. I think that’s the new wave.”

Sean's open to branching out musically and expanding his creativity, thanks in part to lessons learned from West. Watching West go through turbulence and land on his feet has been "inspring" to Sean. “I think he’s in a better place,” he said of the BET Honors Visionary Award award recipient, explaining how West's wife and child have made him happier. “It’s good to see things going well for him. He’s the happiest person I know, he lightens the room up with his vibe and he’ll help you with whatever you’ve got going on.“

Later in the interview, the Detroit rapper spoke more about his own relationship, family, working with Eminem and wanting Dark Sky Paradise to be his "most successful album.”
