Erkyah Badu has become known for her entertaining ways off the stage just as much as she is on. To prove just that, while bored and stuck at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, the "Window Seat" singer spoke to CBS reporter Steve Pickett in an hilarious exchange.
Due to poor weather conditions, Badu's L.A.-bound flight was canceled. When asked about the long wait, she responded, "It's hard out here for a pimp, you know?... I'm just trying to get to Los Angeles. I just have to wait a little bit longer."
While other passengers behind the soul singer were busy scrambling to reschedule their flights, she chatted it up with Pickett, smiling from ear to ear. "Everything's closed... Badu's school is open, though," she joked.
At the end of the segment, Badu, rocking a tall black top hat, long braids, a graphic tee and a fur coat, waved to the cameras before mouthing the words, "Hey mom."
This isn't the first time that the free-spirited singer joked on live television. Last year, she made the Internet laugh when she tried to kiss a seemingly terrified New York reporter during his live segment. She also attempted to mask herself as a New York street singer, earning $3.60 in the process.
