Beck's Dad Worked on Beyoncé's Second Album

David Campbell provided the string arrangement and conducting for Bey's 2006 LP, B'Day.

Despite going head-to-head for Album of the Year at the 2015 Grammys, Beck and Beyoncé seem to have one more thing in common. The indie rocker's father, David Campbell, worked on Queen Bey's Grammy-winning second studio album, B'Day.

According to a Reddit TIL (Today I Learned) submission, Campbell has credits for string arrangement and conducting for the 2006 live-inspired LP, helping it nab a golden gramophone for Best Contemporary R&B Album.

'Yonce is not the only high profile artist that Beck's pops has worked with. His credits include some of contemporary music's biggest releases to date, including Taylor Swift's RedAdele's 21Miley Cyrus's Bangerz and his son's latest album, Morning Phase, which won Album of the Year over Bey's self-titled release at the 2015 Grammys.

Beck's win took many by surprise, however, but seriously angered Kanye West, who blasted the 44-year-old singer, claiming that he "needs to respect artistry." 'Ye eventually apologized, and recanted his words in an interview with Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club, saying, "I was like, 'Man, this is kind of good. I ain't gonna lie,'" after listening to the album for the first time.

There's no beef, though. Kanye publicly apologized via Twitter.
