Mary J. Blige Brings the Classics to SXSW
As SXSW continues to grow, the annual festival has become a destination for the rookies and the vets to move in the same space. On Tuesday (March 17) night, Mary J. Blige hit the Samsung Supper Club in Austin, TX, for an “unofficial” show sponsored by SXSW, reports the Associated Press.
The Queen of Hip Hop Soul performed for a crowd that featured her husband Kendu Isaacs, Kevin Liles, Orange Is the New Black’s Danielle Brooks and Olympic gold-medalist Sonya Richards-Ross.

Blige wore a black crop top and slacks to match, as she grooved with the audience through “Real Love,” “What’s the 411?” “Be Happy” and more of her classics. She also sang new music, like “Doubt” from The London Sessions.
SXSW's festivities span electronics, film and music. The festival concludes this Sunday (March 22).
