Further expounding on the collab, T-Pain said that the song stemmed from a brand new Aaliyah project that was in the works just a few years ago. After contributing two songs to the unreleased album, he was given the green light to choose and release one of them.

"They were actually doing an Aaliyah album a few years ago," he said. "They told me to do two songs and I could pick one to keep."

The song he chose to master is called "Girlfriends" and is described as a "slower track," but definitely not a ballad.

The Iron Way is set to be released online on Friday, March 27, and will also feature Bun B, Big K.R.I.T., Big Kash from Nappy Boy and Shawn J from Field Mob.
