Young Thug Responds to Lil Wayne Diss

The rapper calls Weezy his "idol" despite the backlash.

Many had an opinion in response to Young Thug's recently announced album title, Carter VI, even Lil Wayne, himself, whose reaction was anything but supportive. The "Lifestyle" rapper, however, is not looking for any type of beef, praising Weezy as his "idol" in the process.

"I understand that Lil Wayne is frustrated about his career, and I feel him on that, but this is my idol," he said in a video posted to his Instagram account. "I wouldn't ever in my life swap words with him or beef with him about nothin'. This is a person that I look up to. Ha ha!"

The video was captioned, "I respect @liltunechi for being someone so big in my life, no matter what he say ... #c6otw."

Lil Wayne shared his thoughts on Young Thug and the album title, Friday (April 10), telling the audience on his Release Partiez tour not to support the project. "I want y'all to do me a favor and quit listening to songs of n****s that pose naked on they motherf****n' album cover," he told the roaring crowd at Freelons in Jackson, Miss.
