Drake to Headline First Ever Landmark Music Festival in Washington, DC

Wale will also be on the bill for the inaugural event.

Cali has Coachella, Austin has South by Southwest (SXSW) and now Washington, D.C., has the Landmark Music Festival — and Drake is set to be its first headliner.

The inaugural music event will go down on Sept. 26-27 at West Potomac Park. Indie rock band alt-J and New York rock group the Strokes will also headline the event, making Drizzy the first and only hip hop act to receive top billing so far.

The Landmark Music Festival will be produced in collaboration between C3 Presents and the Trust for the National Mall. The ultimate intent for the event is to raise awareness and funds for restoring the National Mall.

While the "6 God" MC is set to headline, he isn't the only hip hop act secured to hit the stage. Wale is also mentioned among the extensive list of performers, which also includes electronic acts Chromeo and CHVRCHES.

If you can't snag a ticket to D.C. for the show, no worries — select performances will be streamed live on Live Nation Channel and Yahoo Screen. Tickets can be purchased at landmarkfestival.org.
