Milli Vanilli Singer to Comeback With Real Voice

Fab Morvan to drop new album with John Davis, one of the guys who actually sang the duo's hit songs.

Nostalgia is big in music these days, but one group we never thought we'd see on an album cover or stage again is Milli Vanilli. Notorious for being revealed as lip-synching frauds nearly 25 years ago, one half of the duo, Fab Morvan (pictured right), is attempting a comeback with none other than the man whose voice he masqueraded as his own back in the day.
Morvan is in the studio with John Davis, one of the behind-the-scenes vocalists who sang on the hits that were fronted by duo, TMZ reports. Davis and Morvan are making an album called Face Meets Voice: A True Milli Vanilli Experience. Davis says of their collaboration, “Everyone knew Fab didn’t sing, but had no idea he actually could sing. And really great.”

Milli Vanilli hit the scene in 1988 with their infectious pop hits and coordinated looks. The duo scored a string of chart toppers, but eyebrows started raising in 1989 when, during a televised live performance of their hit single "Girl You Know It’s True," the song began to skip, exposing that they had not been singing live.
They finally confessed to the deception in November 1990, nine months after they won a Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Morvan and his partner-in-mime, Rob Pilatus attempted to relaunch their career as Rob & Fab a couple of years later, and then again as Milli Vanilli in 1997. Their plans came to a tragic halt when Pilatus was found dead of a suspected drug overdose, as the pair prepared for a promotional tour in 1998.
