Jennifer Lopez confirmed what has been speculated for months now: she’s headed for Las Vegas. Lopez’s residency begins next January at Planet Hollywood’s AXIS Theater, the star announced on American Idol Tuesday night. 

“I've been preparing for this moment my entire life,” she said in a statement. “The show is going to be a multifaceted high energy Jenny from the Block party, mixing all aspects of what my fans and I love — Dance, Hip Hop, Latin and Pop. It’s going to be the show I’ve always dreamt of creating.”

She will perform a total of 20 shows, starting with six in January and four for February, followed by a three-month intermission. The residency picks back up in May, repeating the same pattern, only the order is flipped: four shows in May and six in June.
