Spotify Announces Video With Vice News, MTV, ESPN and More
Spotify announced that they’re including video content in addition to their music streaming service.
During a press conference held in New York today, Spotify flaunted their dominance against competitors Tidal and Beats Music by bringing video into the fold. Launch partners to feature video content on the service will include Vice News, Comedy Central, the Nerdist network, ABC, ESPN, BBC, NBC, MTV, Fusion, Maker Studios, TED and more. The demo showed various playlists that will be tailored to each member. If you are a fan of Broad City, you can now watch the show on Spotify.
To add to the video content announcement, Spotify introduced a new feature for runners. When you're running at a certain pace, Spotify can play music that will match your speed. You really can't beat that.
Spotify’s aim is to be the one stop shop for all things entertainment. They are known to be the biggest service for streaming music and have been rapidly growing since it was launched in October 2008. As the options for streaming become more crowded — Tidal’s artist-owned service, for one — Spotify intends to become a whole different entity of its own.
