What started out as a fun lyrical exercise has become a resurgence of freestyles from New York’s best. Fabolous led the pack with his string of freestyles over classic ‘90s beats, but now the likes of Jadakiss, Papoose, Tony Yayo and more have re-entered the freestyle circuit. Is New York rap really back? Maybe.

However, Fab continues to set the bar higher. Today, he’s announced his new mixtape, Friday Night Freestyles, will be releasing soon. He’s also getting the tape hosted by DJ Clue.

Although there’s no word on if he’s putting his previously released freestyles on there, fans are excited to see Fab tapping into his roots again.
