Social media is great and all, but have you ever thought about how much more carefree life would be without it? The group Awreeoh from the movie Dope — go check it out! — enlightened us with a visual to show just that. When modern day's destractions are eliminated, there's only one thing left to do: turn up!
The clip starts off with the trio — consisting of Malcolm (Shameik Moore), Jib (Tony Revolori) and Diggy (Kiersey Clemons) — FaceTiming their buddy Will (Blake Anderson), trying to save their failing outside gig. He turns around in the frame to show him that the outside venue is a ghosttown, but Will, who's apparently a tech wiz, had a plan: shut down all of social media, forcing everyone to go see them perform. What ensures afterwards, you have to watch the clip to find out.
As far as the movie's concerned, it's already dubbed one of the most exciting releases of the summer. Boasting a star-studded cast including the likes of A$AP Rocky, Chanel Iman, Zoe Kravitz, Forest Whitaker and Kimberly Elise, you're bound to see something that you like.
Dope made its debut in the U.S. Dramatic Competition category during the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. After earning rave reviews, it received offers from at least six production companies and studios before Open Road Films snagged the film's rights and began pushing the film for a wider release. Dope is now set to hit theaters on June 19.
