Beyoncé's Vegan Diet Update: She Still Eats Meat

Bey has another announcement for us.

This week, Beyoncé had her fans a bit confused after she teased a big announcement on Good Morning America. While many hoped it was new music on the way, they were upset (especially the BeyHive) to learn that she dedicated herself to a vegan diet. Not exactly what her fans expected.

In the short clip, ‘Yoncé went on to explain her decision. “This is something I have to share with everyone," she said. "I am not naturally the thinnest woman. I have curves. I'm proud of my curves and I've struggled since a young age with diets. Finding something that actually works and keeps the weight off has been difficult for me."

She has been indulging in Marco Borges’s 22-day nutrition plan, a plant-based diet where the challenge lies in giving up meat. However, there’s more to what we saw in her initial announcement. In a four-minute video posted on her YouTube page, there’s a longer interview where she shares some more wisdom about her choice, and it’ll surprise you.

“Now, you know, I still eat meat and it’s all about balance, but absolutely I make better choices,” she says.

Wait, what? Beyoncé still eats meat? We’re guessing this isn’t too shocking. Everything is better in moderation. And according to Borges, he doesn’t seem to mind that his participants are mixing in meat into their diet.

“22 Days is about allowing people to define plant-based living the way that works for them,” he explains. “Psychologists have learned that it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. So if you adopted a healthy habit over the course of 21 days, on the 22nd day, you’d be on to the new habit.”

So there you have it. Beyoncé just wants us to balance out our eating habits. Duly noted.
