Lil Wayne made some people pretty upset on Sunday night after he reportedly ditched a scheduled performance at Minneapolis club The Venue because his crew refused to be searched before entering.
A statement from The Venue, obtained by Billboard, read that Weezy "elected not to perform after members of his entourage refused to take part in the Venue's standard safety procedures." The said procedures that all attendees — both talent and patrons — have to abide by include an exterior pat-down and metal detection and presenting proper identification for proof-of-age.
A statement posted to The Venue's Facebook page elaborated on the situation, clarifying that it was some of the MC's crew members who refused to abide by the rules and not necessarily the rapper himself:
Wayne has yet to respond to The Venue's claims. In other Weezy news, he recently confirmed that his upcoming LP, Free Weezy Album, will hit shelves on July 4.
