Most street performers in big cities are just trying to get their music heard. But what happens when you recognize someone famous?
Nile Rodgers was incognito and performed a few of his classics on the streets of London over the weekend. He set up shop with a microphone, amp and his trusty guitar and went to work on songs that many people immediately caught on to. It was right after his big performance at the British Summer Time Hyde Park concert.
"Today I went busking on the #London Southbank. Didn't draw much of a crowd until I started playing dance music. Hmm?,” he wrote on Twitter. “Though I had no voice from screaming during last night's show, I started to draw a crowd when I sang ‘Aw Freak Out!’…This really was a blast today. I truly used to like busking. I made a decent living and some lifelong friends."
Surprisingly enough, Rodgers even made some money! Although it wasn’t much considering how famous he is (£12.30 or $19.47 USD). Sometimes, you never know who will be playing right in front of you. Watch a video of him playing below.
