Game Pleads Not Guilty to Hitting Off-Duty Officer

If convicted, he could face three years in prison.

Game was charged for hitting and threatening an off-duty police officer during a basketball game at a high school in Hollywood, reports the Los Angeles Times.

In March, he participated in a Pro-Am game at Hollywood High School when he got into a heated argument with the police officer, who is named Onyebuchi Awaji. He committed a hard foul, punched Awaji in the face, and threatened to kill him before leaving the scene, allegedly. The incident was recorded on video and posted to YouTube.

The Compton rapper pleaded not guilty to the charges in a LA courthouse on Monday (June 29). If he is convicted, he could face three years in prison, in addition to owing up to $12 million in a lawsuit Awaji filed.
