This year honors a "decade of the King of Beats."

Common and Slum Village will help celebrate the 10th Annual DC Loves Dilla Tribute Fundraiser in commemoration of J Dilla next week, reports Hip-Hop Wired. This year's milestone two-day celebration honors “a decade of the King of Beats.”

The first night kicks off Thursday, July 9 with a Beat Sessions panel at the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater. Combat Jack will moderate the event, featuring Slum Village, 9th Wonder, Musiq Soulchild, DJ Spinna and more.

The tribute concert takes place Friday, July 10 at Washington, D.C.’s Howard Theater, led by Common and Slum Village. Other names on the roster include 9th Wonder, DJ Spinna, Wes Felton, Alison Carney and J Hill. Dilla's mom, Maureen "Ma Dukes" Yancey, will be there too.

Each year, the DC Loves Dilla Tribute Fundraiser brings together members of Dilla’s musical family along with regional acts to celebrate the late producer who passed away in 2006 from complications brought on by lupus. The concert infuses Dilla’s music into each set, with the help of a 13-piece band, the Players, led by musical director John Laine

Proceeds from DC Loves Dilla support lupus initiatives and youth programs.
