Meek Mill Responds to Drake Diss Track
The feud between Meek Mill and Drake lives to see another day. After the OVO boss, who Mill accused of employing a ghostwriter, dropped a diss track on the Philly emcee called "Charged Up," Mill responded on — where else? — Twitter, calling the impromptu cut "baby lotion soft."
He later added, "I can tell he wrote that 1 tho..."
On "Charged Up," Drake addressed Mill's accusations for the first time. “I did some charity today for the kids/ But I’m used to it cause y’all charity cases,” he rapped on the song. “All y’all stare in my face and hope you could be to replace me / Snitchin’ on us without no interrogation / I stay silent ‘cause we at war and I’m very patient./ Six God is watching, I’m just hoping you prepared to face him.”
The song later includes a reference to Mill's track "R.I.C.O," on which Drake appeared: “I’m done doing favors for people. Because it ain’t like I need the money I make off a feature.”
The feud started last Tuesday, when Mill tweeted — out of nowhere — "Stop comparing drake to me too.... He don't write his own raps! That's why he ain't tweet my album because we found out!" Before long, everyone from Roscoe Dash to Funkmaster Flex had gotten their two cents in, with the latter even releasing a reference track made my Drake's alleged ghostwriter Quentin Miller for his song "10 Bands."
Is Millz in his feelings about Drake's friendship with his girl Nicki Minaj? Is the beef just a plot to drum up sales for his album Dreams Worth More Than Money? Do we really care? In any case, streets is talking...
Word is Meek will be on Funkmaster Flex's show on Hot 97 this Monday with a more lyrical response. Stay tuned.
