Joe Budden Pens an Open Letter to Eminem on 'Slaughtermouse'
Joe Budden’s next solo effort, All Love Lost, is due out Oct. 16 and a lot of fans have been anticipating this project for a while.
Budden recently put the project up for pre-order on iTunes, which comes with a download of his personal track “Slaughtermouse.” Over production by AraabMUZIK, the Slaughterhouse rapper pens a five-minute open letter to Eminem, rapping about being a fan of Em’s music since “Rock Bottom” and giving praise for his success. He also compares his past traumas with relationships and drug use to Eminem’s, and questions why the two couldn’t bond over it in the studio.
When speaking with Genius about “Slaughtermouse” and his history with Em, Budden says, “Maybe we thought Eminem who Eminem was that our job would be easier. That his fans would be our fans. We just had a lot of things misconstrued that we didn’t know. That his sound may work for us. We were learning on the fly.”
