Willow Smith Drops a Video for 'Why Don't You Cry'

Her new single tackles teenage angst we all know too well.

Willow Smith is currently the cover star of i-D Magazine and has decided to share her new song and video today.

“Why Don’t You Cry” focuses on the theme of teenage angst, which is a narrative written by Willow herself. The video includes her oldest brother, Trey, who makes a brief cameo behind the boards.

Willow is having disputes with characters playing her parents in the video. In the scenario, Willow is grounded from going to a party later that night. Instead of sulking and crying, she picks herself up and we see her spirits get lifted up again. Yes, she can be best described as a tortured teenager here, but who hasn’t been through this before?

Willow's last new song was “F Q-C # 7” in May, so does this mean we’ll finally get a proper debut album? Only time will tell. But in the meantime, watch “Why Don’t You Cry” below.
