Kanye West's presidential bid is starting to sound frighteningly real. The rapper-designer sat down with Vanity Fair to talk about the New York Fashion Week showing of his Yeezy collection, and the conversation naturally turned to his political prospects.
Yeezy is "definitely" running for president, he tells the magazine, and he has some ideas on how to run that will make even Sarah Palin look normal. "When I run for president," he said, "I’d prefer not to run against someone. I would be like, 'I want to work with you.'"
The always-collaborative artist says he even reached out to a Republican front runner, Dr. Ben Carson, who knows a thing or two about switching careers. "I was like, this is the most brilliant guy," he said of Carson, who is a renowned pediatric neurosurgeon.
West says he plans to shake up the game in Washington because, "I hate politics." He adds, "I’m not a politician at all. I care about the truth and I just care about human beings. I just want everyone to win, that’s all I can say..."
At this point, all Kanye has to do is promise every American a pair of Yeezy Boosts if he's elected, and his candidacy is in the bag.
