Azealia Banks Accuses Nicki Minaj of Playing ‘Victim’
There’s a serious rift among female rappers in hip hop. Not that it’s anything new, but the lack of unity among women in rap, amid a rush of presumed feminism, doesn’t quite add up.
Case in point, Azealia Banks and Nicki Minaj. Banks called Minaj to the carpet today over her interview with The New York Times Magazine. The Harlem spitter accused Minaj of playing "victim" by pulling the race card in the Miley Cyrus drama yet showing Lil' Kim no mercy during the beef that never officially ended.
If there are any redeeming factors to what will probably be written off as another rant, Banks's issue seems to be about hip hop, and perhaps the entertainment industry, at large. Her approach may turn some people off though, hopefully these tweets won't erupt into a certified beef between Minaj and Banks.
