Ross, 75, was taken in for suspicions of conspiring to commit a crime regarding sale of a controlled substance, and later released.

Authorities have not officially detailed specifics behind the alleged drugs, but confirmed that the former kingpin was apprehended. According to his Facebook account,  the charges have been dropped. "To everyone despite what has been said about me in the media this past weekend, I'm okay & this is just another attempt to drag my name through the mud," he wrote.

For the last several years, Ross had been engaged in a legal battle with Rozay for using his name. He lost a lawsuit against he rapper in 2014.
