August Alsina Gets Very Personal on His New Single, 'Song Cry'
August Alsina is getting ready to release his forthcoming album, This Thing Called Life, and shared a very personal record for his fans.
The New Orleans crooner has been on an upward battle this year, recently undergoing eye surgery to cure an eye disease that made him partially blind. A few months later, he caught some flack online for groping a woman on stage, but he felt it was all a ploy to bring him down.
“S/O 2 that beautiful young lady. & to you ignorant mufukkas & weak a** blogs..TRY AGAIN!,” he wrote. “Christmas is near, I'll buy you all toys to play w/.”
August is looking past his hardships and focusing strictly on the music. On his new single, “Song Cry,” he uses music to alleviate the pain about losing a loved one. “I’ma let my soul cry through these words … sometimes I need to cry to ease my hurt,” he sings on the hook.
