Jerry Heller Wants $110 Million From Dr. Dre for Defamation
After watching the Straight Outta Compton movie rake in millions over the past few months, N.W.A's ex-manager is suing everyone that touched the project claiming that he's been defamed.
Jerry Heller was portrayed in the movie as a money hungry music manager that took advantage of N.W.A when it came to signing contracts, paying the artists what they earned and being honest. Having seen the movie front row and center when it opened (yes, he did that), Heller is now suing NBC Universal, Dr. Dre, Eazy E's estate, and Ice Cube claiming that nobody ever asked permission to use his likeness and that his portrayal in the film was damaging to his reputation.
He is suing for all profits made from the movie and $75 million in punitive damages and $35 million in compensatory damages.
This is probably a waste of time, but good luck to him!
