#TBT: Listen to a Previsouly Unreleased Jay Z Freestyle
Having interviewed a bunch of rap’s best and brightest, Tim Westwood probably owns lots of unreleased content in the archives. Westwood debuted a 20-year-old Method Man freestyle late last month and today he doubled down with a never-before-heard 1999 verse from Jay Z.
The Jigga flow that sounds pretty damn good to be 16 years old. Off the bat, we can hear how Hov’s delivery and content has evolved over the years, which means no references to his art collection, Tom Ford or Audemar Piguet.
In 1999, Jigga Man was a lyrically confident 30 year old, ripe with the drive of a rising rap mogul. It’s almost hard to believe that he’s spitting fresh off the dome.
