Vince Staples: Michael Jordan, Donald Trump Are the Same
Rappers say the darndest things.
Vince Staples recently sat down with GQ to critique a bunch of their Men of the Year issues, and when he saw the spread with basketball god Michael Jordan, he refused self-censorship.
"I love 'em," he said, but "Michael Jordan and Donald Trump are the same kind of person. Michael Jordan, Donald Trump, they are the epitome of bad people in America becoming successful.”
Granted, it was a set up. "Vince Staples had the best year of his career in 2015, establishing himself as one of the hottest young artists in music," GQ folks wrote in the sit-down's description. He's also, "downright hilarious ... That’s why we turned to him to judge our oldest, and often dorkiest, Men of the Year moments."
That he did. And in doing so, he might've lost his chance at his own "Grammy Edition" Air Jordans.
"Wise men never win in the company of fools," he would say.
