It has been almost a year since Nicki Minaj and Safaree Samuels broke up, but that’s not stopping him from collecting what he believes is his from their time together.
According to TMZ, the Brooklyn rapper is preparing to sue his ex for what is predicted to be a large sum and has already assembled his legal team. The payout he’s seeking includes cuts from Nicki’s most profitable albums — The Pinkprint, Pink Friday and Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. He’s also planning on asking for proceeds from some of her most popular singles, including "Only," featuring Chris Brown, Drake and Lil Wayne, "Flawless (Remix)," featuring Beyoncé, and "Feeling Myself," also featuring Beyoncé.
Sources close to Samuel’s camp, who spoke to the celebrity news site, say Safaree’s rationale is that he was “super involved” in creating the aforementioned work and cites that he was named executive producer on Minaj’s first two albums. They also claim he has “boatloads” of recording session voice memos and footage and multiple witnesses to prove he had a heavy hand in getting her output created.
