Erykah Badu Apologizes to Iggy for the Sake of Her Daughters and That's It

If it were not for the children, ain't no sorry!

Update:

Iggy is attempting to be a better person by accepting Badu's apology without too much fuss. The rapper told Badu in a note on Twitter that she's "100% a woman of her word and appreciates the apology." She also gave a open invitation to Badu's kids to visit her on her forthcoming tour. ______________________________________________________________________________

If you were looking for Erykah Badu to sincerely apologize to Iggy Azalea for her light-hearted joke on BET's Soul Train Awards, you've got to let it go.

After Badu called Iggy's work "definitely not rap," the Aussie artist took to Twitter to indirectly call out Badu for the unneeded attention. Unfortunately for Iggy, shade can be read with or without the @ symbol. Badu laughed it off, telling Iggy she'd never send an Uber for her again.

While conducting her own Q&A with fans on Twitter, Badu decided to end this "thing" with Iggy once and for all.

Answering a fan who pondered "[Why] you do [Iggy] like that," Badu responded in the best way possible.

"I want to do this for my daughters. I want to apologize to Iggy Azalea because she's one of their favorite artists. And they listen to her all the time. And, it's for them," she began. "When I really think about it... I mean, if y'all love her so much, why don't you go be with her then?"

In other words, Erykah is saving face for her children, not because she needs to apologize to Iggy.

Point, set and match.
