Talib Kweli Calls Non-Indictment in Tamir Rice Shooting 'Disgusting'

"Murderous cops walk free again," says Kweli.

A grand jury’s decision not to indict Cleveland officers for the shooting death of 12-year-old Tamir Rice has left many feeling numb, emotional, discouraged in the legal system and even angry.

Talib Kweli is among those angered by the culmination of the Rice shooting, and he has been using social media to air out his frustrations and go at it with an Internet troll. The Brooklyn MC didn’t mince words (he rarely does), calling the grand jury announcement  “disgusting” in a round of tweets today and writing that the “murderous cops walk free again” via Instagram.

A PRESCRIPTION TO END POLICE BRUTALITY

In statement released after the grand jury announcement, attorney Subodh Chandra said the Rice family is “saddened and disappointed by the outcome — but not surprised.” The statement goes on to accuse Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy McGinty of “abusing and manipulating the grand-jury process to orchestrate a vote against indictment.”
