This Aretha Franklin Performance Is Why She's the Queen of Soul

Franklin sings "Natural Woman" at 2015 Kennedy City Honors.

Last night’s debut of Aretha Franklin's performance at the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors is precisely why she's the undisputed Queen of Soul. Franklin's show-stopping performance of “Natural Woman,” taped in Washington, D.C., earlier this month, brought the crowd to its feet and President Obama to tears.

SONGS ABOUT LOVE

The 73-year-old soul legend performed in tribute of singer/songwriter Carole King, one of this year’s honorees. Franklin started off at a piano wearing a full-length fur coat that she threw off by the end.

The crowd, which included Michelle Obama, was in awe from start to finish.
