Memphis Bleek Doesn't Believe Another Jay Z Album is Coming, Ever

He also recalls discovering Rick Ross.

Memphis Bleek’s been around some of the most legendary moments and situations in hip hop over the past 15 years but often doesn’t get credit for all he’s accomplished.

Now primarily a Dussé embassador, the former Roc-A-Fella Records artist met up with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club and actually dropped a bomb that probably most weren’t expecting. When asked whether Roc-A-Fella would ever record together again, Bleek not only said that wouldn’t happen, but he believes the chance that Jay Z would ever drop another album again is slim to nil.

"I don't know if he's retired, but I don't know if he'll ever drop another album," he said. "He might drop songs here and there, you know pop up, but an album, I don't know… Imagine what it would take to get Jay in the studio to lay a verse, he continued.”

Earlier during the interview, Memphis Bleek recalled discovering Rick Ross in Miami and responded to the notion he doesn’t get credit for being early on a lot of artists.

“I told Jay about him. He was in the studio,” he recalled. “Shoutout Rick Ross. He was in the studio when we did “Round here” down there when I went to check Trick Daddy. He was spitting to me and [Beanie Sigel] like, ‘Yo, they don’t give me the shine.’ I’m like, ‘Who? What? Let me hear what you got.’ And he spit and I was like, ‘Man.’ I called Hov right there, ‘Jay, they sittin’ on something down here.’ Hov took that trip, he came to NY and [here] he is today.”

Memphis Bleek also discussed watching T.I. work early on and detailed his current-day relationship with members of his former label. Watch the full Breakfast Club interview below.
