Jay Z Sued By Perfume Company for $18 Million
Jay Z has faced a few lawsuits recently but they’re ones he’s been able to defeat. Now he’s found himself on the receiving end of another as Parlux Fragrances is suing the rap mogul for $18 million.
TMZ is reporting that the company’s claiming the Brooklyn native didn’t show to numerous events after they the say they secured a licensing deal with him back in 2013 to launch their “Gold Jay Z” fragrance. Future scents were also in the plans to follow. Jay’s namesake and image were supposed to be used to push their brand in the coming years.
Apparently Jay was absent from an appearance on Good Morning America and a Macy’s launch, two events he was paid to go to. They also say he didn’t use his social media to promote the product, which was also a part of the agreement. Parlux is claiming that they have yet to turn a profit and a lot of their product has been returned to them from department stores for lack of sale.
Jay Z has yet to respond to the lawsuit publically.
