A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Make Us Miss the Summer Terribly

The two join forces on "Hear Me."

“Young n****s only pay attention if it’s fly, hear me?” And that we do!

In the midst of the back and forth between Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose, A$AP Rocky blessed the Twittersphere too by releasing a new track titled “Hear Me,” produced by the “gawd” Pharrell Williams. Taking to SoundCloud to upload the track was an excellent move by Rocky, as this medium enables artists to get the music they want to the people. Not to mention, the ease of social media pushing is impeccable. And let's face it, after yesterday's events, it's clear social media rules EVERYTHING.

On the cut, Pharrell’s legato flow sounds like an opening scene of a blurred summer on Harlem's West 145th Street–made clear as soon as Rocky gets to Adonis the beat. (That was a Creed reference if you missed it. It’s OK to sit that one out.) The New York summertime sound is in full effect—complete with ricocheting drums and synths (like the balance of a wild New York night from a mellow hot day). After a few spins, we’re ready for the return of rooftop brunch parties, (preferably Chef Roblé’s Everyday People—Google that!) as this will bring the same impact as Kendrick Lamar’s "Alright," only from an East Coast artist.

So summertime…want to start tomorrow?
