During a recorded car ride with James Corden, Adele does Minaj proud, covering the rapper’s “Monster” with a gusto that would put other karaoke enthusiasts (and even some rappers —yeah, we said it) to shame.
Minaj was among millions to find the clip hilarious, giving the powerhouse singer props on Twitter, pointing out Adele even nailed her “attitude & fingers to match.”
Fast-forward to almost a full month later and the verdict is in: the clip has set a new record on YouTube for the most-watched late-night clip… ever.
The “Carpool Karaoke” segment on The Late Late Show With James Corden set a new record on YouTube with 67.5 million views since it was released on January 13, with its first five days online racking up 42 million. Dang.
Now that we know Adele can spit with the best of ‘em, maybe Minaj will recruit the singer for a feature in the future. We'd be here for that.
