Kanye West tweeted his final tracklist last night, along with the title of his album…T.L.O.P., which stands for The Life of Pablo. This is the fourth (and final) album title change announced by West over this past year.
The album was originally titled So Help Me God. It then switched to SWISH — and let’s not forget the controversial switch to WAVES, which started a brief Twitter beef with Wiz Khalifa. In honor of the album, West also decided to drop Yeezy Season 3 on the same day and held a Twitter contest for fans, stating that whoever guessed the album title will be gifted with a pair of Yeezys and tickets to Season 3.
Much to the Internet’s surprise, many actually guessed accurately. Fans assumed the “Pablo” whom West was referring to is Pablo Picasso...or Pablo Neruda. Despite the theories, T.L.O.P. got its seal of approval from the President of G.O.O.D. Music, Pusha T.
However, once the album title was revealed, many fans got into Twitter wars trying to prove that he/she was the first to accurately guess The Life of Pablo. Thankfully, screenshots and timestamps don’t lie. West never said the first to guess wins the contest. He simply stated that whoever does guess right wins. According to Elon, a member of West’s team, 33 people guessed the album title correctly. So, let’s all calm down and send your Twitter URL’s to Elon and all will be right with the world.
The Life of Pablo is set to drop on February 11. We hope this title will be its last — unless West decides to change it again overnight. Congrats to those 33 lucky fans!
