Fresh off of calling his album The Life Of Pablo “the best of all time” ‘Ye isn’t about hearing that his newest work isn’t the G.O.A.T. That’s where he and Canadian producer and keyboardist Bob Ezrin didn’t agree.
Ezrin recently penned a rather harsh review of T.L.O.P. in Bob Lefsetz’ newsletter, which got Yeezy hot. He claims that while West is a good musician, he isn’t on the creative level of artists like Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore, Tupac, or Jay Z. He also says his producing prowess is subpar compared to the likes of Timbaland or Rick Rubin.
This prompted Kanye to ask the questions, “Has anybody ever heard of Bob Ezrin???” and “What the f*ck does he know about rap…” He also brought Ezrin’s family into his critique of the review, saying, “Your kids are ashamed of their dad… Sorry for speaking about kids… but could you imagine if you were Bob Ezrin’s kids…” Ouch.
This recent outburst comes on the heels of a new Kanye West song surfacing. Last night, ‘Ye debuted a track, reportedly called “Closest Thing to Einstein” at 1 OAK Nightclub in Las Vegas. He released his most recent album The Life Of Pablo on February 14 receiving mixed reviews, including Ezrin’s, since its drop.
