LL Cool J Is Laughing at Anyone Who Forgot About His Rap Career

“Please stop pretending that we all don’t know I’m one of the best to ever touch that mic.”

While the norm may now be to think of LL Cool J as an actor or an event/television host, he doesn’t have time for anyone who forgot why he’s famous in the first place.

The 48-year-old emcee from Queens had some fun on Twitter yesterday (March 2) in a long, hip hop-fueled rant after a blogger posted an article about his music using the hashtag #TBT. The ‘throwback’ branding is probably what caught LL’s eye in the first place, but he wasn’t here for it.

The first tweet in the series read, “According to @HazzieThoughts I was a pretty good rapper.”

From there, he dropped several gems including, “Please stop pretending like we all don’t know I’m one of the best to ever touch that mic,” and “I can cut off your air supply with one single.”

Although he probably didn’t need any backup online, Chuck D came forward to support the rapper saying, “Legend or not LL performs 32yrs of hard to do songs when your fav rapper gets tired in 45min & may run out of songs.”

While it is true that LL has bars for days, the rapper’s tweet saying, “I’m just messing with y’all hahahahahahahha,” must have had the blogger he called out relieved that there were no hard feelings intended with his initial post.

Check out the rant as it unfolded below.
