Drake Plays Surprise Set at SXSW's Fader Fort

He brings his OVO crew with him.

After days of searching for the next big thing at dive bars and hole-in-the-wall venues, SXSW audiences were treated to a surprise set by one of the  biggest stars in music when Drake took the stage at Fader Fort.
The Toronto rapper and his OVO crew stormed the stage at the very end the four-day event's closing night, after the live stream had already gone dark, and performed a string of recent hits including "Jumpman" and "Back to Back."
“I got nothing else to do but be here with you all in Austin,” Drake yelled to the crowd before kicking off his set with "Know Yourself." Before Drizzy took the stage, though, he let some of the newest members of his crew — DVSN and Roy Woods — take the spotlight and get the crowd hyped. Majid Jordan and Partynextdoor also opened for the 6 God.
Drake also gave a sort-of update on his highly-anticipated next album. “Views From the 6 coming in how many weeks I hope you enjoy that s**t,” he told the crowd before closing the show with "Summer 16." Though he didn't specify "how many weeks," chances are the album will drop on 4/16, as he announced before All-Star Weekend.
Last week, Drake popped up in Miami to lend Rihanna a hand on her ANTI tour. Check out their latest collaboration with BET Breaks, below:
