DJ Khaled made news recently when it was announced that Jay Z would be taking over the duties of managing the hitmaker turned Snapchat king.

The Miami native recently spoke with Complex while at SXSW and further detailed how the rap legend will have a hand in furthering his career.

"Me and Jay have been friends for a long time and [have] built a relationship throughout the years," he said when asked about the collaboration. "We always said we [were] gonna do something together besides making amazing music. So, I called Jigga like, 'Let's make history together, let's make big business, let's secure the bag together.'"

He also made sure to clarify that Jay wouldn’t necessarily be working for him but rather it’d be a partnership between the two. When asked about whether Hov would join Snapchat or at least better understand the app, Khaled says it’s a work in progress. He talked about a possible collaboration with Kendrick Lamar and hopeful future joints with Rihanna and Beyoncé during the interview as well.
